Daily Reflections
This year, Hope Center is journeying through the Bible together. We are reading through the Moravian Daily Texts to collectively hear from God and do what He says. As we read we will be asking three reflection questions.
- What does this passage say about the presence & work of God the Father, Son and/or Holy Spirit?
- What word or phrase in this passage catches my attention?
- How is God asking me to respond?
How to make the most of your readings…
Make a commitment that you can keep. If you do not currently have a Bible reading plan, or are very sporadic in your readings, commit to reading just the New Testament passage. If you find that you are hungering for more time then read the Psalms, too.
Utilize the “audio” feature. Our reading plan attached to the Hope Center app has an option to have it read to you in the English Standard Version. This is especially handy for during commute or workout time.
Keep focused on hearing and doing. The goal is to hear from and obey the Holy Spirit. If you are in a passage that particularly grabs your attention, linger for a day or two, or even more. You can always catch up to the reading plan at a different time.
Set aside time to discuss your reflections with others. Create a group of other Hope Center people to check in with regularly. As you share your reflections, take time to listen to one another. Maybe God will point something out though the reflection of another.
Write down reflections, notes, observations & prayers. Hope Center is providing journals and pens to help you keep track of your times with God in His Word and with others.

About the Moravian Texts
The first printed edition of the Daily Texts was published in 1731. The title page of that edition quoted the passage from Lamentations and promised a daily message from God that would be new every morning. It was an outgrowth of a spiritual renewal of the Moravian Church (Unitas Fratrum) that dated from August 13, 1727. The devotional and missional lives of the Moravians were influential in the development of the early Covenant Church, or Mission Friends. In 2023, believers all over the world speaking 64 languages will come together to share the Daily Texts in prayers and praise with one another.
